With over 35 years of industry experience, Kent Schmidt works diligently to provide sound and consistent advice to his clients, while building a well-diversified investment portfolio to help meet their goals and dreams. Whether clients are looking to accumulate wealth, protect wealth, or create income during retirement, Kent can help.

Kent graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BS in Accounting and received his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Northwestern University. In addition, Kent has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. He remains active in the community as the Vice President of the Effingham County Opportunity Foundation and formerly served on the Catholic Charities Advisory Board of Effingham.

Kent and his wife, Elizabeth, reside near Effingham, Illinois. Together, they have three grown children and one granddaughter. Kent enjoys golf and traveling in his free time.

Lauren loves seeing the joy in her clients' eyes as she helps them reach their financial goals. She has always had a strong passion for both numbers and helping others and is glad to make a career out of combining both traits. It is fulfilling to help her clients maximize their financial potential by establishing goals and developing custom investment strategies together. Each client’s unique situation is the focus of every unique financial plan. Lauren collaborates with her Smith Moore team to meet clients’ needs that range from retirement planning and tax planning to risk management, charitable distributions, and more.

Lauren attended Indiana State University, where she received bachelor’s degrees in both Finance and Accounting with a concentration in Financial Planning. She lives in Teutopolis, Illinois, and loves to stay active in local pickleball, tennis, and sand volleyball leagues. She volunteers at different fundraisers and events put on by her local church and enjoys spending time with her family and friends outside the office.

Mark views himself as a holistic financial planner and believes that long-term financial success begins with an inclusive, customized plan that is tailored to the client’s unique goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. He enjoys working with people and investments, guiding clients, and listening to the stories they tell while helping them achieve their accomplishments.

Mark obtained his BS in Business Management and MBA from Quincy University. He initially grew up in the Effingham area and later moved back from St. Louis with his wife, Shelby. Mark looks forward to getting involved in the church and local community. When Mark is not working, he enjoys spending time with family, hiking, traveling, playing pickleball, and golfing.

Dave has the heart of a teacher and is dedicated to creating solid and comprehensive investment programs that focus on growth, income, and tax savings for both individuals and businesses. He utilizes his 30+ years of experience in helping his clients easily understand complex financial terms and concepts.

Dave received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and joined Smith Moore in July of 2009. He is the past president of the Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club and a current Sunday School teacher at New Hope Church.

Dave and his wife, Deb, reside in Effingham, Illinois. They are proud parents of two grown children, Amy and Krista, and proud grandparents of five. He enjoys running, gardening, and traveling and lives his life by the Golden Rule: Treat other people as you would wish to be treated yourself.

With over 30 years of experience in both banking and brokerage firms, Lisa is an expert at keeping the office running efficiently. As a Senior Client Associate, Lisa assists Financial Advisors and their clients in navigating the day-to-day operations. As Training Manager, Lisa enjoys training and collaborating with other Client Associates across the firm. She has always enjoyed interacting with others, and finds helping Client Associates, Financial Advisors, and their clients extremely rewarding.

Lisa lives in Dieterich, Illinois, with her husband, Phil. They love going camping with their two sons and four grandchildren. She serves on various church committees and has been a youth leader in their parish for eight years. Lisa loves traveling to National Parks and away games for the St. Louis Cardinals in her free time.

He lives in Effingham, Illinois, with his wife, Michelle, and their two sons, Nathan and Ryan. Doug enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, pickleball, and cards when outside the office.

Adam prioritizes building relationships with clients first so he can better understand their unique goals and needs. Through proper discovery and research, he creates customized financial plans tailored to the specific client while managing risk and weighing potential tax consequences.

Prior to becoming an advisor at Smith Moore, Adam worked in management with over a decade of accounting and leadership experience. While only a small portion of his day was spent with clients, it was always the most rewarding part of his day. Now, Adam enjoys focusing 100% on clients and playing a part in helping them reach their long-term financial goals.

Adam obtained a BA in Economics with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He and his wife, Molly, live in Effingham with their daughter, Luna, and dog, Sam Elliott. Adam enjoys spending time with family, traveling, playing golf, and attending Fighting Illini basketball games and Green Bay Packers games outside the office.
